Kiki está muerto, el pobre. Oye, after a 10-hour workday, a chest workout and a smoothie with his mistress,  he can practically smell the couch and remote control. Pero, Sindy just called and asked him to pick up Swiss cheese and milk on the way home.

 We feel you, Kiki. Any man dying to get home would want to yell, “Carajo, esta mujer me tiene loco!”. But no worries brother, because we have 4  reasons why stopping at Publix before going home is the bomb, not a drag. And Sindy will get her Swiss cheese and milk.

 

4. The hot food section at Brickell Publix (911 SW 1^st., 33130, 305-358-1575):  I know keeping your six-pack smooth is priority, but dude try your best to here around 5:30 p.m. on any given weekday. Brother, it’s as if you had fallen in a coma and opened your eyes in the middle of Bogota, Colombia, after a short stop in Caracas, Venezuela and Sao Paulo, Brazil. And if you’re lucky, you might run into the chick from high school you always wanted to … although she’s know walking around a grocery store in yoga pants with her 63-year-old boyfriends. The fried chicken and tenders are the shit, too.

 

3. The buzz at Dadeland Publix (9105 S. Dadeland Blvd., 305-670-8929): The atmosphere at 6 p.m. while you wait for your Italian sub is off the charts. Running into an old high school frame will be the last thing on your mind in this spot, because you’re likely to be all up in the Cuban lawyer with the white blouse and wraparound skirt, waiting for her pound of Boarshead turkey.

 

2The scene at Coral Gables Publix (1500 S. Douglas Rd., 305-445-3221): This is my personal favorite from top to bottom. A bit crowded at times, there’s nothing better than the lively chattering, all the Spanish bouncing off the walls and interacting at the checkout lines.

 

 

1. The service at Aventura Publix (18995 Biscayne Blvd., 305-931-3761): You can practically eat off the floor. In fact: I did a couple of years ago, after dropping 12 chicken tenders on the way out.
