Do you live in South Florida and are you crazy enough about cooking that you dream about being a nationally-recognized chef, and would have no problem showing off your own dish in front of food judges that are going to either praise or smear your own dish?
If your answer is yes, MasterChef is looking for you!MasterChef, Fox network’s ‘reality’ cooking competition which just completed season No. 5 under the watchful eyes of judges Gordon Ramsey, Joe Bastianich, and Graham Elliot, is hosting a casting call for season No. 6 Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the JW Marriot Marquis Miami.
MasterChef producers are seeking contestants who always wanted to be in the food industry but whose life took them in another direction. You know: The teacher that’s so obsessed with her kitchen she is seriously thinking about quitting her job to bake cookies for a living. Or who has the ability to make three gourmet dishes before 6 p.m.
There will be no kitchen to cook or warm up your dish, so it is required you bring everything you need, including plates and utensils.
And here’s some more friendly advice: Get a good night’s rest and put on your best smiley face because you will be at the casting for approximately three hours, and will be answering plenty of questions about your dish, from the food judges. Got it? Oh, and leave your sharp knives, fire and chocolate fudge-ice cream dipped in berry sauce recipe at home because you want to make sure to prepare a dish that travels well, if not avoid being disqualified.
You can eat your heart out in the parking lot cooking on your own grill, but don’t think about starting a fire or plugging anything inside the hotel because it’s a RULE.
But don’t let the fact you can’t start a fire, get in the way of creativeness. Organizers are encouraging contestants to put their respective personality on display. You can’t live without dessert? A pie might be a good idea. Love barbeque? Grill it up.
Who knows? You could end up being the next Courtney Lapressi. Go look her up!
